I am first and foremost a storyteller and story lover, whether those are told through books, movies, games, or theme parks.

For my BFA, I majored in English: Creative Writing at Lake Forest College and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society upon graduation. My senior year, I interned at Booklist, the American Library Association’s book review magazine. I made such a positive impression that the Editor-in-Chief reached out when Booklist had an opening and suggested I apply. I have been working there ever since, first as an Editorial Assistant, then as a Marketing Associate.

Although I’ve enjoyed working in publishing, I am now eager to transfer my passion for stories from books to in-person, interactive experiences, which is why I’m earning my MFA in Themed Entertainment Design at SCAD. (Fun fact: As a kid, I once bankrupted my Rollercoaster Tycoon game because I spent too much money on theming. I’m more business-savvy now—promise!) I came into this program interested in concept design. The more I collaborate on projects, however, the more I’ve noticed how much my colleagues value what I bring as a seasoned writer, which is why I’m also eagerly pursuing narrative design and show writing.
